The documentary MAESTRO VILI KAZASYAN from the Bulgarian National Television series “BNT Presents” is an emotional picture about the famous jazz artist, composer, piano player and long time conductor of the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band. By putting together poignant memories of family members, friends and co-workers, illustrated with video footage from BNT’s Golden Archive depository, the authors tell a story about passionate love for music and about life dedicated to work and unrelenting professionalism. This portrait documentary is a lesson of its own how to live with dignity even during controversial times. The movie is full of music – beginning with the tunes from the early 1960s when the Big Band of the Bulgarian National Radio was started, then fast forward to the glory days of the Golden Orpheus International Festival for popular music. MAESTRO VILI KAZASYAN is the story of an artist and individuality who controlled his own destiny, loved music and had the strength to overcome adversity with kindness and patience. It is the story of a musician with an imposing presence.
