Leonid Yovchev is trying to find the first issue of DAGA magazine the favorite comics magazine from his childhood.The film is a study of a cultural phenomenon — In the midst of socialism — 1979 in Bulgaria appears a magazine advocating Western influence the comics art. DAGA exists for more than ten years and has a huge circulation 300,000Magazine DAGA was issued 12 years on end. 44 artists and 35 writers worked for it. They created more than 80 series. Thanks to this magazine, the art of comics developed in Bulgaria and even lead to the opening of a comics school. Some authors have shared their memories of DAGA, readers have shared their excitement with deploying these comics as kids.This is a unique comics magazine, not only in Bulgaria but throughout the former Soviet bloc. Some of the series and the characters are still living today in the minds of the readers, shaping their personalities.
