Director Dimitar Sharkov

A portrait of Entcho Pironkov – one of the outstanding artists from Plovdiv’s School of the 60s together with Gheorghi Bozhilov, Dimitar Kirov, Yoan Leviev, Kolyu Vitkovski and Christo Stefanov. Born in the village of Rozovets, without academic education, the artist gathers worlds discovered by himself and turns them into paintings. His works are full of rich colours, lyricism and emotiveness. He creates also in the sphere of applied monumental art – mosaics, frescoes, stained glass, wooden and metal sculptures and scenic design – he is the author of the sets for the film Yoan Assen’s Weddings.
