NUVOLA, a film that tells the story of a major project of urban renewal and transformation, starting from the Lavazza headquarters in Turin, engaging with the people who live there, the Aurora district, and the city of Turin. A multifaceted system of relationships in constant motion, a living place that is continually evolving. The film is a portrait—both individual and collective—that captures life within the various spaces that make up Nuvola, exploring their relationship with People, Light, and its aesthetic transformations throughout the day and across seasons. Through eight chapters — Aurora, In Dialogue with the City, A Star in the Neighborhood, The Façades of Turin, A Visit to the Museum, Savoy Baroque, A Terrace Overlooking the Park, At the Roots of the Project — NUVOLA takes the viewer through different places: the archaeological area, the Museum, the “Centrale” (which revives the former power plant, now disused), the “Condividere” restaurant, the Bistrot, and the garden-square. Five years after the company’s relocation, the film shows how the architecture of the new headquarters has come to life, turning into an open, multifaceted place oriented toward the future. Architect Cino Zucchi, the film’s narrator, guides viewers on this journey, offering a comprehensive and in-depth perspective. His voice is interwoven with those of the different communities that pass through, spend time, and live in the Nuvola. A weaving of languages and perspectives offers a multi-layered narrative: observational sequences portray Nuvola “from below” through the daily experiences of those who live it; the testimony of its author offers a vision “from above”; and rhythmic sequences convey the poetry of the place through visual and musical interludes.
