Bulgaria, 2016, 54 min.

Director Kamen Vodenicharov

At Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA this year’s newest promising talent is getting ready to graduate. One of their teachers is Professor Alexander Iliev-Sacha from Bulgaria who has been helping them answer the very important question: “What comes next?”

This is a documentary piece about the role and impact Professor Iliev has had on the development and future career path of these young artists. “The Plague in Venice” – commedia Dell’arte is a play which Professor Iliev is preparing with the graduating students.

The question the film asks the viewer is, “What is the plague of modernity?” For civilization it’s licentiousness, religious wars, social injustice, the loss of hope and the degradation of love, as well as the loss of a good sense of humor. For the students finding the right answers through education and art will lead to truth… And perhaps to the red carpet.
