Combining two landmark projects by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop — the Fondation Beyeler in Basel and the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, the filmmakers Paul Clemence and Aksel Stasny apply their artistic sensibility to highlight Piano’s architectural vocabulary: the masterful use of light, the carefully orchestrated relationship between in and out, the seamless connection to the surroundings, and an exacting precision of craftsmanship. Originally conceived as a video commission by the Art Museums of Switzerland, the film expands on the initial premise to create a cinematic homage to the Italian master architect.
